Shoe Care Guide

If you want to increase the longevity of your shoes, the best thing to do is to take care of your shoes properly. Proper shoe care will increase the longevity of your shoes and keep them in like new condition.

Cleaning Shoes

Leather shoes can be shampooed if done so properly. After being shampooed the leather needs to be conditioned to restore moisture. Once the shoes have been conditioned, shoe cream or shoe wax can be applied to receive a high gloss shine. Fabric shoes can also be cleaned by shampooing them. Caution must be taken before applying products to ensure a favorable outcome. Please follow the manufacturer instructions for using all products.

Choose The Right Size Of Shoes

People often overlook the importance of wearing the proper shoe size. Shoes that are too large or too small can not only cause damage to your foot but can also harm ankle, leg and cause back pain. Shoes that are too large will wear out faster than shoes that are properly fit.

Get Sole Guards

Soleguards (also know as sole protectors) are rubber soles that adhere directly to the soles of your shoes. In the long run, it saves you money because protecting the sole is more cost efficient than replacing the cost. Soleguards not only add a layer of protection between your soles and the ground but the also add more padding and traction which increases the comfort of your shoes, especially high heel shoes. Soleguards can last approximately 6 months to a year depending on how often they are worn.

Do Not Wear The Same Shoes Every Day

It is best to rotate your shoes on a daily basis. If your jobs requires you to wear a specific shoe than we recommend having multiple pair so that you don’t have to wear the same pair day after day. Rotating your shoes regularly will give them time to dry out and prevent them from losing their shape.

Repair Your Shoes

If your shoes began to show signs of wear, get them repaired immediately. A hole in the sole, the heel tips have worn off, or the sole protection has become thin are sign you’re your favorite pair of shoes need so tender loving care. Ignoring these signs can be costly or may be irreversible if overlooked to long. Preventive care will extend the life of your favorite pair of shoes so that you can continue enjoy wearing them.

Invest In Shoe Horns

A shoe horn is a curved instrument used to ease one’s heel into a shoe. Putting your shoes on and off without shoe horns will cause damage to your shoes. The more you force your feet into your shoes will cause you to wear it down and it will cause it to damage the support at the heel of the shoe.
